Edae is the area where Ehwa Women’s University is located. This university neighborhood is peaceful and a great place to shop. Nathalie and I went just to wander around, first stopping in the Daiso and being surprised at all the cute options there were in comparison to some of the other Daiso’s we’d been to. We also spent a lot of time in the park near the station. It was a really peaceful park with a lot of mangy red/orange eyed pigeons. There was music playing near an empty stage and plenty of seating.

The area is also home to the first Starbucks in South Korea. which opened in July 27, 1999. It tends to be rather packed with students studying despite having multiple floors.
There are plenty of shops in the area and they aren’t particularly expensive. We ended up doing a decent amount of shopping and ended up eating a lot of good food. Despite the large crowds we had to fight through to get around which made it difficult to window shop or slow down, both Nathalie and I throughouhly enjoyed the area. It was peaceful, artsy, and had lots of good food. I even found a Caribou coffee shop which was surprising since I’m pretty sure all the ones in Chicago were shut down before I left.
