Yeouido Park Cherry Blossoms 여의도공원

Cherry Blossom season can be intense. There’s all these warnings about how there are more people than cherry trees or even cherry blossoms at some of the larger sites like the Yeouido Park. But Nathalie and I went early in the morning on a Sunday and there weren’t many people at all. Leaving us plenty of time to take photos of the cherry blossoms we did see and wander around the park.

Overall we were both disappointed. I think we were expecting a more in your face type of cherry blossom experience and to be fighting a crowd. But I also think we were on the wrong side of the park for that. It was nice though to walk around and see the cherry blossoms and we did enjoy just sitting in the park watching the petals fall.

The park is pretty big and broken up into the traditional Korean forest, ecosystem forest, grass square and culture square. There’s also plenty of people around playing sports or riding bicycles.
