After wandering around the cherry blossom festival and taking photos my coworkers and I headed off to dinner at 상천리 봉녀수제비. Sometimes dinner with my coworkers can be worrisome because they all enjoy spicy foods and I can’t handle spicy foods at all which tends to leave me eating a bowl of rice and picking at side dishes. I also tend to be unaware of what we’re going out to eat until I’ve settled onto the floor and the food is brought out.
For this dinner we were brought out big metal bowls and smaller bowls of soup. I figured we were all sharing until every single person at my table was given their own bowl. We were given 메밀수제비 a traditional soup with veggies and dough flakes in a seafood type of broth, specifically buckwheat sujebi. I loved it. It reminded me a bit of chicken and dumpling soup without the chicken. I also loved the atmosphere and design of the restaurant with the little windmill out front and traditional style house and flowering trees around, the wooden lanterns and of course all the little bonsai in the windows.
