장터왕족발

After walking around the garden in the rain we headed into Chuncheon for dinner of pigs feet. I hadn’t had pigs feet before and kept thinking of pickled pigs feet I’d see at the grocery store in the US and just wasn’t particiularly excited. But I was rather pleasantly surprised when the food brought out for us didn’t look like pigs feet but just cooked slices of meat. What we were having was jokbal 족발, which is cooked with soy sauce, spices, wine, ginger, and garlic.

First we were brought out a spicy pajeon which is a bit like a pancake. I didn’t have any because if my coworkers say it’s spicy then I won’t be able to enjoy it.

I’m pretty sure the type of pajeon they brought out was a Kimchijeon which is a kimchi pancake with green onions and other veggies in it. They also gave us a nice warm soup.

There was some bony bits underneath the sliced meat but I just stuck to the slices. It was sweet and tender and a bit savory. It came with a spicy like dipping sauce and another salty sauce with veggies and tiny shrimp in it. Over all I was pleasantly surprised that I liked it.
