Our last stop of our teachers trip was at 한국관, a korean restaurant in Inje on the other end of the Pokemon Go glitch. It was a continuation of our pescatarian diet. It was also my favorite meal the entire trip. Which is both sad and funny. Why? Out of all our meals, from fancy seafood apetizers to mussel kalguksu this is the most basic Korean. It’s not fancy, it’s common, just simple fish with a nice plethora of side dishes. I think that’s why I liked it so much. It wasn’t spicy, it was savory and buttery and the side dishes weren’t spicy and they were delicious. Soy sauce soaked quail eggs, potatoes, anchovies, bracken, and mixed veggies. We have these at school for lunch sometimes and I love it.
All in all it was a fun trip to the East Sea. I probably utterly destroyed my data for the month catching Pokémon, I didn’t sleep well, and I got pushed out of my comfort zone, but I got to get to know my coworkers better. I was able to bond with some of the middle school teachers about Pokémon and I was given a chance to explore another part of the country and try new things. Our party bus of middle school and elementary school teachers and staff partied to exhaustion becoming more of a quiet sleeping bus the rest of the way home.
