After my night in Seoul I headed to Daegu to stay with a friend for the night before we’d continue further south to Gyeongju. I spent my afternoon wandering around shops while I waited for her to get off work, and then eventually we went in search of the ever elusive Daegu barbecue restaurant street. We managed to find it this time and after walking past all the barbecue restaurants we settled on 양파 식당, since I’m getting a little sick of samgalpsang (it’s all we eat at work dinners).
양파 식당 is a Japanese style barbecue restaurant so we ordered two servings of yakiniku, a type of beef. We were brought out plenty of sides, my favorite was the cheesy corn that cooked while we waited for the meat to come out. The pieces of meat were a bit small but flavorful and we greatly enjoyed it, especially with the sauce on the side filled with green onions.
