등대식당

For dinner we ate at 등대식당. It was where anyone with shellfish or seafood allergies had eaten lunch. Our dinner was 오삼불고기 which was about 15,000 won.

It was a special type of pork and seafood cooked with a spicy sauce which knocked about 6 of us out from being able to eat it. Instead of eating at another restaurant though we just ate a ton of banchan 반찬 (side dishes).  Because the majority of our meal was tofu we ended up making it a tofu challenge. There were four pieces of tofu per plate and four of us at our table so every time we finished a plate whoever took the last piece would ask for more until we no longer could continue and had to admit defeat. It made the dinner fun, but after talking to other people it also wiped the restaurant out of tofu. The owner also recognized several of the people in our vegetarian/spice free group and brought us a delicious potato dish that everyone had had with lunch and it was delicious and demolished before I got a picture.

Note: this restaurant is on the second floor and we had to sit traditionally on the floor which was a bit rough for some people in our group. Also the people who could eat seafood, pork and spicy things were very happy with the 오삼불고기. The restaurant also offers other things, included the mussel rice we’d had at lunch at a different restaurant and pajeon.
