솔향 is a sashimi restaurant within walking distance of Anmok beach in Gangneung. It’s tradition that on any teacher’s trip we go on that we end up eating sashimi and raw fish at least once.
We were first brought out cold noodles that were nice but not particularly filling and then the raw seafood courses began.
Usually I eat some cooked side dishes and just a couple slices of the sashimi. I can’t get into the raw snails though or some of the other dishes and I’ve never really been able to eat a ton of raw fish. It doesn’t fill me up and eventually I just get tired of it. Especially sashimi where I just get tired of chewing. My coworkers loved it and I learned that sea urchins continue to move after they’ve been plated, which was horrifying, especially since I’d never seen one move before. So if you like raw fish 솔향 would be a good place to visit in Gangneung after some time on the beach.
