SF bagel is a place my friend has pointed out every time we’re in the area (Hongdae). So I decided, this time since I was hungry for dinner to stop and grab something to eat.
It’s a very small store front with only enough space inside for maybe one or two people to stand and place their order. A couple snuck in before me while I was perusing their menu which is posted outside trying to decide what sounded good. I figured I’d go with one of their basic bagels and some homemade cream cheese.
What they have in stock changes depending on what they’ve sold out on. Like even though it was in fact Saturday (the day they make vegan cinnamon rolls according to their menu) there weren’t any (vegan or not) in the display. So I got a plain bagel and some herb and spices cream cheese. The lady working asked if I wanted it sliced and toasted so I said yes. Then I went outside to sit at one of the tables that are set up around the corner. It was very hot and I was grateful that she opened the window and put an electric fan in it for me.
It was quite good. Simple, but a decent bagel. I also got a coffee cake because I haven’t had that in forever and split it with my friends who were quite happy with it as well.
SF bagel is a location where it’s best to buy what you want and take it to go rather than eat it there. There is a small amount of space but if it’s hot out it’s absolutely miserable. (Though the fan really did help.)
SF bagels is open from 11am until 9pm on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays they’re open from 9am until 9pm. On Tuesday and Wednesday they’re closed.
