The Pancake Epidemic-Seoul

The last day of my vacation I wanted to get home early so I could pass out and recover for work the following day. Which meant a ridiculously early flight and ending up back in Seoul by a reasonable breakfast hour. So before heading our separate ways my friend and I went to the Pancake Epidemic for breakfast in Sinsadong, as soon as they opened at 10:30am.

There are four locations of the Pancake Epidemic in South Korea. Their menu isn’t particularly big when it comes to food, with only about three options: Original, Nutella, and Boneless pancakes. (Boneless pancakes that come with ham and cheese). I ordered the Original while my friend ordered the Nutella.

The original pancakes were delicious, salty and sweet, with whipped butter and a very delicious syrup. My 3 pancakes were very filling and cost 6,500 won. My friend’s Nutella pancakes were also delicious, though a bit more expensive at 8,500 won, with a layer of Nutella between each pancake and topped with a scoop of ice cream.

The majority of the menu is coffee, so if you’re a coffee lover you’ll have plenty to choose from, including honey coffee. There’s also a shop that sells clothing beneath the second floor cafe/pancake shop.
