I took a delightful cooking class in Naha. The space also transforms in the evening into a local beer focused space that also serves food.

Hello!

My name is Lauren. I'm a writer who loves to travel and try new foods. Join me on my adventures (and misadventures)!

Instagram

One of my favorite artists is Alphonse Mucha. When I studied in Prague I wanted to see his art but ran out of time. So when I saw ads that there was an exhibit in Seoul last year I made sure to go. It was well worth it to see all the beautiful posters up close and the different iterations as well as his other works for advertisements, tea boxes and odes to Prague and his home country. Check out the last photo for an artists recreation of his iconic flower crowns.
Winter might not be the best time to go to Herb Island, since none of the flowers are in bloom (only fake ones), but they make up for it with lights. (Next to the creepiest mob of santa statues and animatronic dinosaurs)
Art, beautiful nature, and a space museum? Will always love spending a day like this, especially with friends. I miss friend road trips like this one.
When I went to Okinawa back in February I wasn’t expecting it to be my last vacation but  🎶 “no one told you life was gonna be this way” 👏👏 👏 👏 I’m so glad I went and got to explore such a beautiful island. Though, beauty and pretty flowers were not my only favorite things on the island. All of the food really brought me joy that I think made my trip the opposite of my Paris one. In Paris I just ran from view to view barely eating except for stuffing pastries in my mouth as I ran around, in Okinawa I walked and ate and ate and ate. Mostly ice cream.
This beautiful cape was named by a Ryukyu king during the 18th century. The clif is made of linestone over emerald water and coral reefs and is famous for looking like an elephant. The king said he believed the grassy plain could sit 10,000 people.
I love a peaceful walk through an aquarium, the one in Okinawa is a part of the Ocean Expo Park which is huge.
