Do-rite donuts is located at 50 West Randolph and opens around 6:30/7am. It’s located near the Goodman theater and might be hard to find because it’s hiding between restaurants. Look for the giant donut outside.
One thing I’ve noticed about some of the donut shops in Chicago (and most other donut shops, not Glazed and Infused or Stan’s donuts which serve donuts all day) is that you have to get there early before they sell out and close shop. Do-rite donuts is located in a busy area near the business district and the theater district so if you’re lucky you’ll get there before the business people show up. I found a friend willing to get up early and walk there at about 7am. Do-rite donuts is closest to the red line Lake stop. We arrived right before all of the business people and almost walked past the shop.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that they serve gluten-free and vegan options.
My friend got a box for her and her boyfriend and loved the candied maple bacon donut.
I ordered a lemon old fashioned donut and a vanilla bean glazed cinnamon crunch donut that I saved for later and demolished before taking a photo. They have some seating outside and in-between the door and the second door into the shop they have water set up. They also serve dark matter coffee.
