Toni Patisserie and Café is a European inspired pastry shop and cafe located downtown Chicago at 65 East Washington Street and in Hinsdale Illinois. When a friend and I stopped in I decided to try their eggnog macaroons since I love eggnog. It was rather busy for an afternoon on a weekday, but the warmth of the shop was very welcoming and the workers were friendly. They sell a variety of pastries and sweets from pies and cakes to dinner rolls and breads as well as salads, sandwiches, and soups.
The downtown location is located in the Pittsfield Building, a 1920’s 38 story skyscraper and Chicago landmark. It features a five story atrium that can be seen from the Toni Patisserie if you follow the signs that lead to the bathrooms. (you need a key for access to restrooms but not in order to see the atrium) The Pittsfield building was built by the heirs of Marshall Field and is currently mostly offices and shops with some housing space.
