Linus’ Bama Style Barbecue 라이너스 바베큐

Linus’s Bama Style BBQ is located in Itaewon near exit 4. They make traditional American bbq foods like pulled pork sandwiches and brisket. They also have a pretty decent sized drink menu (alcoholic) that I didn’t end up trying. They’re open for lunch (11:30-3:00) and dinner (5/5:30-10/10:30).

I ordered their pulled pork sandwich which comes with slaw and “skinny ass fries”, but I substituted the fries for onion rings and my friend got the fries. (We also tried their mashed potatoes and gravy). They have two types of bbq and you may need to ask for the sweeter type if you want to try it.

The pickles were definitely American style pickles which was surprising because I’ve gotten use to the sweeter Korean pickles. (I’ve eaten more pickles in Korea then my entire life in America) The meal was super messy but delicious. Between the “skinny ass fries” and the onion rings I ended up trading a lot of my onion rings for my friends fries since I enjoyed the spices a bit better. The white sauce next to the mashed potatoes came with my onion rings.

During the winter they enclose their outdoor seating and put up fires to keep it warm, but during the summer it’s all out and in the open. It seems to be a pretty popular place even though we didn’t have to wait for a table.

It was a good home-esq style food and didn’t really feel like I was in Seoul at all, especially with all the old American music playing.
