I headed home for my birthday, I wanted a nice break where I could rest and start a trip home off on a nicer foot then the last two times I’d been home. After chilling with family I headed to Chicago to try and visit a couple friends. I visited a lot of places I’d been to before, except one. I met a friend after work and together we headed to Doc B’s which can be found at a couple locations around the USA including Florida and Texas. It also happened to be one of her favorite to take friends.
We split an appetizer of guacamole and homemade chips. ($14)
I also ordered the Carnitas Sandwich which was $17 and came with a side of my choice, I picked a beat salad. The Carnitas Sandwhich came on a a sesame bun, was a slow roasted pulled pork with an onion ring and coleslaw piled on top along with a pickle and bbq sauce. It was really good. I was only able to eat half and I took the rest back to my aunt’s to eat for lunch later.
The waiters were really nice and it was strange to have some one come over again and again to check and see how we were doing and chat with us in friendly manner. Korea has definitely made me less social with servers than I use to be stateside. But it was nice and I had a great time.
