Before I left for London I had a meeting with a teacher who goes to London often. She suggested I visit The British Library and check out their Treasures Gallery and exhibits, specifically the original handwritten manuscript of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures Underground which eventually became Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The British Library turned out to be close to our hotel, so before we headed back to the Tune Hotel to get ready for dinner we made a quick trip to the library. We didn’t have much times so we asked the librarians at the front desk for directions. The exhibit is beautiful. It houses the Magna Carta, original Beatles lyrics, Shakespeare, Leonardo Da Vinci’s Notebook, and so much more. A lot of it is even online, or you can find stands throughout the gallery and it will let you flip through the pages, all of which have been digitalized. The library also has a gift shop that goes with their gallery/museum.
