One evening when we weren’t really doing much in our hostel unit, I figured I’d do some homework and go to bed, our teacher popped by and invited us to a Jazz and blues club, U Malého Glena in Praha 1.
The main level is a bar. Downstairs of U Malého Glena is where the Jazz and Blues is played. The kitchen is open until midnight and the bar gets pretty busy. We arrived early so we could get a seat since there is not much seating available downstairs. We were right next to the stage, close enough to the performers to touch them. They have 50 options of mixed drinks along with imported and Czech beers. They also offer cuban cigars as an option. The show had a 200 Kc cover charge.
U Malého Glena also includes Uncle Glenn’s apartments which is a place for people to stay. We understood it as, if you are too drunk to leave you can rent out a place to stay. Our small group trip to U Malého Glena and listening to that evenings Jazz performance was probably one of my favorite things I did while in Prague.
U Malého Glena is located at Karmelitská 23 11800 Praha 1.
